September 12th—Cambridge

Even brilliant mathematicians need comfort.
Another driving day but with stops at Bletchley Park and Duxford. Bletchley Park was cool but very disorganized (ironic?). The reconstructions of Bombe and Colossus are incredible, it's easy to see where the ideas fro all the flashing lights in 50s Sci-Fi films came from. The highlight, though, at least for a non-mathematician like myself, was Alan Turing's Teddy Bear.
Duxford was awesome-I saw a spitfire flying! Also several WW1 planes that I can use in a book I'm thinking about. Only problem was, I came into the parking lot to find a flat tire—and then it began to rain. This explains why I am signing off now—I need food and beer.
